Too often, our prayers are one-sided. We do all the talking! And we miss perhaps the most important part of prayer - GOD TALKING TO US!
Sunday, April 24, at 11:00 A.M., we will be looking at the parable of "The Sower and the Seed", and gaining some insights into how to LISTEN to God as we pray.
I look forward to seeing you then!
I imagine each of us has had at least one time we've prayed, and it seemed God didn't answer. Why was that?
Sunday, April 17, at 11:00 a.m., we'll be tackling this issue. You are welcome to join us for this study at Open Door Community Church.
In Luke 18, Jesus tells us a parable. Luke says, in essence, "He told us this parable to teach us that we have 2 options in life: pray, or give up." That's pretty serious!
Jesus tells us a parable about a widow and an evil judge. The lesson seems to be "it pays to pester people to get what you want."
What does this have to do with prayer? Sunday, April 10, at 11:00 a.m., we'll look at this passage, and the parable in Luke 11:5-13, and see if we can find the answer!
I can't make any promises, but the plan will be that you will be back home in time to watch the final round of the golf!
There are passages in the Bible that cause us to ask "How can I obey that?" I Thess. 5:17 is one of those passages. It says "pray without ceasing."
Sunday, April 3, at 11 a.m., we'll unpack this verse, and learn some practical ways we can "pray continually", which is how the NIV translates it.
I hope to see you then!
Keep on praying!
